Q: Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?

A. Hands down, my favorite assigned summer reading was ‘In Cold Blood’ by Truman Capote. Looking back, it was the start of my fascination with true crime, mysteries, and police dramas. I mostly read YA now, but I still enjoy watching these kinds of shows when I can find a few spare minutes.

And although I loved In Cold Blood, I have to be honest and say that I’m a little jealous of kids today. Rumor has it summer reading now includes The Hunger Games! How awesome is that? I can’t recall ever being *required* to read a best seller that also happened to be an international blockbuster movie. *sigh* Kids today have it so good! 😉

Q: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

A. I wish I could say I had some great noble desire to share my love of books, but it didn’t exactly start out that way. I stumbled across GoodReads last year (I can’t even remember how I found it) and OMG! I coudn’t believe my eyes. A whole website dedicated to books? And book reviews? And these oh-so-friendly book bloggers who not only like to read, but actually talk about books? Oh, GoodReads, where have you been all my life? I quickly told my closest friends (who also happen to be avid readers) about this wonderful site where you could track all of your books, find new books, and get reviews for books you were thinking about buying. They quickly signed up as well, and long story short, my blog just sort of snowballed from there! I’ve met so many great people and have discovered books I might never had the opportunity to read otherwise!

Happy Reading!

Q: Birthday Wishes — Blow out the candles and imagine what character could pop out of your cake…who is it and what book are they from??

A: This is going to be one heavenly cake! I’m wishing for Patch from Becca Fitzpatrick’s Hush, Hush series. I probably wouldn’t complain if Daemon from Jennifer L. Armentrouts Lux series popped out either! Just sayin…

Crossroads Book Tour

They say all good things come to and end and it must be true because the Crossroads book tour is almost over. The good news? There’s still time to enter for your chance to win a Kindle Fire!

Thanks again to the amazing Rachel over at Parajunkee.com for hosting the tour and for giving my blog and my book a fresh look! I also want to thank all of the wonderful bloggers who allowed me to write guest posts for your sites!!! You guys rock! I hope your readers enjoyed the posts and am so grateful to everyone who followed the tour. Your feedback and support are always appreciated. I wish each of you the best of luck in the upcoming Kindle drawing and hope that you enjoy Crossroads if you have the opportunity to read it!

As for me, I’m going to do some much needed reading (up first: Nightshade by Andrea Cremer) and writing! It’s been a busy and tumultuous month for me and I am seriously looking forward to checking out of reality for a while!

Q: Go count the number of unread books sitting on your shelf. How many?

A. Sadly, this is going to be one of those weeks where I have extreme blogger envy! Since most of the books I read are e-books which I download as I go, I’ve only got one actual book on my shelf to be read! So, instead, I’m going to focus on my TBR list which currently has 29 books on it!

Letter to Santa: Tell Santa what books you want for Christmas!

Tis the season! Since I’m sending my wish list to Santa, I figure the books don’t have to be released just yet, right? Maybe he’s got a little Christmas magic up his sleeve!

Outpost (Razorland #2) by Ann Aguirre

Endlessly (Paranormalcy #3) by Kiersten White

Blood of Eden by Tami Dane

Everneath by Brodi Ashton

And just in case he can’t get me advance copies of the books above, I’d settle for the complete Vampire Academy series. I haven’t read any of the books yet, but I always hear wonderful things. Besides, there’s something about starting a series when you know you can get your hands on all of the entire collection that I just love! (Probably the lack of endless waiting to see what’s going to happen next!)

Q: Today’s Question is something new, an activity. We want to see what you look like! Take a pic with you and your current read! Too shy? Boo! Just post a fun pic you want to share.

Me, my polkda-dot pajamas, and my Kindle with Sophie Jordan’s Vanish. In retrospect, maybe I should have waited until tomorrow to do my post…. when I was properly dressed!
